Gael is a student in our Special Needs Program, and his joyful spirit is impossible to miss. He is always smiling, kind, and happy to be around others. When asked what his favorite thing to do is, Gael simply answered, "Worship God." His response gives a glimpse into the kind and joyful heart he brings to our community every day.
When one of our volunteers first met Gael, she asked if he knew how to write his name. He didn't—but he was eager to learn. Together, they practiced, and with some help, Gael successfully wrote his name for the first time. He was so excited!
A few weeks later, Gael was writing not only his own name, but his teacher's name as well. He proudly showed everyone what he could do.
Gael's progress is a beautiful reminder that every accomplishment matters. For him, learning to write his name may seem like a small step, but it represents growth, confidence, and a new ability he can carry with him.
Gael is teaching those around him to celebrate the little things—to recognize that a win is a win, and no victory should ever be overlooked.
